Apharwat Peak

Apharwat Peak is the main attraction in Gulmarg for Ski enthusiasts. It is rich in natural splendor and is situated high in the Gulmarg peak - 4200m above sea-level. Since it is not easy to climb up here, cable cars have been put to use to make it easy for tourists to reach Apharwat Peak. At the second stop of Gondola, you can easily reach the Ski destination. The entire location lies carpeted in snow for the entire year, almost and the slopes offer the best platform for skiing. In addition to sports activities in Apharwat Peak, you could also visit the Line of Control, if permitted, as it is at a walking distance from here.


Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve

Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve is the must-visit place for wildlife lovers. Besides wildlife, the place offers the best photogenic landscape for photographers to click nature at its wild best. Gulmarg Gondola

In the first stage of the Gondola ride, the ride comes to a standstill at the location called Kongdoori. But if you book a second stage ride, it would take you to the Apharwat Peak. Some estimates say that Gulmarg Gondola ferries as many people as 600 every hour, hence a long wait in the queue is an unavoidable circumstance. As you go up the peak, the Gulmarg and its veiled glory comes to light and remains a spectacle to behold. Maharani Temple

In Gulmarg, you will hear it named Shiv Temple of Gulmarg. Maharaja Hari Singh, the ruler of Kashmir, had it built for Maharani Mohini Bai Sisodia, the wife of the ruler. Itinerary Details

Day 1:Arrival at Gulmarg from Srinagar

On arrival at Srinagar, you will meet our representative and proceed toward Gulmarg. En route, you get to see the beautiful Tangmarg town and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg—Check-in hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gulmarg Hotel.

Day 2: Gulmarg Full-Day Sightseeing

After Breakfast in the morning, proceed sightseeing in Gulmarg, and enjoy the panoramic views of the location. After that, all sightseeing is to be done by walking or taking a horse ride or ATV by paying directly (due to union issues). You can enjoy pony rides to Maharani Temple & St. Mary's Church (at your own cost). A Gondola ride (cable car) is recommended, which takes you to Kongdori (Phase 1) & Apharwat Peak (Phase 2), which is at one of the highest altitudes in Asia. The vehicle will drop you at the Gulmarg parking, 1-1.5 km from Gondola. The two-stage Gondola lift ferries to and from Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak (4,200 m / 13,780 ft). The first stage takes from the Gulmarg resort at 2,600 m (8,530 ft) to Kongdoori Station in the bowl-shaped Kongdori valley. The second stage of the ropeway, which has 36 cabins and 18 towers, takes skiers to a height of 3,747 m (12,293 ft) on Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak (4,200 m / 13,780 ft). The timing of the Gondola ride is from 10 AM to 5 PM (subject to change without prior notice; gondola operations are highly dependent upon the weather at both stages). Later in the evening, return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Gulmarg Hotel.

Day 3 : Transfer from Gulmarg to Pahalgam

Check-in to the hotel at Pahalgam for an overnight stay. After Breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Pahalgam via Pampore, Avantipura, and the village of Bijbehara, which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. We switch from the national highway 1A at Khanabal and drive through the second-largest city of Anantnag. From here, the road turns scenic as we go parallel on the Lidder River flowing from opposite directions.

Day 4: Pahalgam Full-Day Sightseeing Tour

After Breakfast today, your day is at leisure to soak in the ambiance of this charming valley town. You can hire a local taxi (on a direct payment basis) to take several optional excursions in and around Pahalgam Valley, such as an excursion to Chandanwari (3288 meters above sea level), Aru Valley, and Betab Valley. Drive back to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Aru Valley is a pristine scenic village situated in the region of Trans-Himalaya. Clear blue canopy over the head, misty surroundings, whispers of the native pines and conifer forests, and beautiful meadows create a captivating diorama for travelers thronging the place. Betaab Valley is a perfect gateway to enjoy the heavenly pleasure of Mother Nature. Earlier known as Hagan Valley or Hagoon, Betaab Valley became its name after the Bollywood movie Betaab was shot there in 1983.

Day 5: Transfer from Pahalgam to Srinagar + Srinagar Sightseeing

After Breakfast:

  1. Check out from your hotel & drive towards Srinagar.
  2. On reaching Srinagar, check in to your hotel & proceed for a local sightseeing tour.
  3. Visit the famous Mughal Gardens, along with a visit to Shankaracharya Temple & Hazaratbal Shrine.

All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake, with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the parks is about 12 to 15 km, respectively. Shalimar Bagh is India's most extensive Mughal garden, located northeast of Dal Lake near Srinagar city, along with another famous lake garden Nishat Bagh. Nishat Bagh is one of the most beautiful terraced Mughal gardens at the side of the famous Dal Lake near Srinagar. Also, enjoy 1-hour shikara ride in Dal Lake. This boat ride glides you past some wonderful vegetable gardens and aquatic life. Later, return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Full-Day Yusmarg Sightseeing

After Breakfast, proceed for an excursion tour to Yusmarg. Yusmarg is a small meadow in the heart of mountains southwest of Srinagar. It is an ideal picnic spot, and Nilnag Lake can be visited here. A two-hour drive from Srinagar (47 km) will take you to acres of grassy meadow ringed by pine forests and, towering beyond them, awesome and majestic snow-clad mountains. Later returned to Srinagar. Dinner and overnight stay in Srinagar Hotel

Day 7: Srinagar Sightseeing + Departure from Srinagar

After Breakfast in the morning:

  1. Check out from the hotel and proceed to a left-out place on the local sightseeing tour of Srinagar.
  2. En route, visit the carpet-weaving factory and old Srinagar City.
  3. Later, transfer to Srinagar Airport to board the scheduled Flight for the onward destination.

Important Notes for Travellers:

  • In Gulmarg, the horseman union does not allow vehicles to drop off or pick up guests at/from the Gondola. The association also prohibits all sightseeing tours.
  • Aru Valley, Chandanwari, and Betaab Valley at Pahalgam are separate from the itinerary (unless included) due to restrictions by the local transport union.
  • You have an hour each to enjoy the picturesque snow-clad mountains and the green valleys of Aru Valley, Betab Valley, and Chandanwadi in Pahalgam. If you wish to spend more time exploring these areas, you must pay the appropriate additional amount to the driver/taxi union.
  • Only vehicles allotted by the Local Unions of Pahalgam and Sonmarg can be used for sightseeing in the regions and may differ from the usual standards of Etravego.
  • During winter, the road to Sonmarg remains closed, and vehicles can only go to Gagangir.
  • For Sonmarg sightseeing, our vehicle will take the guest to the Sonmarg taxi stand. From there, the guest must hire a pony/local Union cab for sightseeing. Glacier and Zero Point at Sonmarg are not included in the tour due to restrictions laid down by the local union.
  • Due to a ban on new construction in Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and a few areas of Srinagar, such as Dal Lake and Boulevard Road, some hotels may appear worn. Rest assured; these hotels provide excellent facilities and hospitality.
  • In case of road closure due to snow and slippery roads, our vehicle will not be allowed to ply as a precautionary measure. It is as per govt—/administration orders. Only snow jeeps/chained cars are allowed to ply. You can hire these vehicles on a direct payment basis, or we can arrange the same at an additional cost.

  • Suppose we cancel your package due to any natural calamity. In that case, weather conditions, etc., Etravego.com shall strive to give you the maximum possible refund subject to the agreement made with our trade partners/vendors.
  • If you fail to make the payment as per the schedule provided in the Proforma Invoice, Etravego.com reserves the right to cancel the booking after attempting to contact you. Refunds would be as per the package cancellation policy. 
  • Please note that if your package includes a flight from a low-cost carrier (Air Asia, Scoot Airlines, Air Arabia, Jetstar, Fly Dubai, Thai AirAsia, Air India Express, Tiger Airways), it won't include any baggage in the package. You can add the Baggage as per your requirement at an additional cost depending on the airlines and destination. Our Travel Consultant will attempt to contact you within 24 hours after the booking gets confirmed for baggage addition. 

Cancellation Policy:

  • The guest must give the notice to cancel the Holiday in writing or by mail to our office, and Etravego.com shall refund the tour cost after deducting the cancellation charges.
  • From the booking date to 45 days before the departure date, 25 % of the package cost is chargeable.
  • From 45 days to 30 days before the departure date, 50 % of the package cost is chargeable.
  • From 30 days to 15/21 days before the departure date, respectively, for domestic/ international packages, 75 % of the package cost is chargeable.
  • For cancellations within 15/21 days before the departure date, respectively, for domestic/ international packages,100% of the package cost is chargeable.
  • In the case of cruises, 100% of the cruise cost paid will be forfeited in case of any cancellations, irrespective of the time of cancellation.   
  • The company reserves the right to cancel any Tour before the departure without assigning any reason. In such an event, all monies paid by the guest will be fully refunded immediately in Indian Rupees currency only, but no compensation will be payable.
