The Alcázar of Seville is one of the most representative monumental compounds in the city, the country and the Mediterranean culture as a whole. The historical evolution of the city in the last millennium is held within its walls and gardens, amalgamating influences starting from the Arabic period, late Middle Ages Mudéjar right through to the Renaissance, Baroque and the XIX century. The declaration of World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987acknowledged the survival of cultures and civilizations as a harmonic whole where all of the elements are balanced.

They are absolutely spectacular for their artistic value and their representations of the history of Spain.

Torre Del Oro

The Torre del Oro, or 'Tower of the Gold' is a tower from the 12th century located on the Guadalquivir river. The 36-meter-high tower was built by the Almohads and was part of the Moorish city wall, which ran between the Alcazar Palace and the rest of Seville. The purpose of the tower was to control shipping on the Guadalquivir river. A heavy chain ran under water from the massive tower to the other side to prevent enemy ships from sailing on the river. It now houses a small maritime museum. The museum outlines the importance of the Guadalquivir river throughout Seville's history. No other structure in Seville better explains the role that the Guadalquivir River played during Spain’s colonial period than Torre del Oro, the Golden Tower.

Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza – Bullring

This magnificent bullring is considered to be one of the finest in Spain and is one of the oldest in the world.
